2025 Fred Swain Scholarship Application

The Eastern Regional Foundation is offering a $3,000 scholarship to an active member of the AJSA and MUST reside in the Eastern Regional area who plans on attending a post-trade school or two/four-year college.  The applicant must show current and previous involvement in AJSA Simmental or Simgenetics.

Application deadline must be postmarked or received by May 15, 2025.  All candidates must be present for their interview at the Eastern Regional Classic.

2025 Eastern Regional Scholarship - Scholarship Criteria

1. The applicant must be an active member of the AJSA and reside in the Eastern Regional area

2. The applicant must show current and previous involvement in AJSA Simmental or Simgenetics.

3. The applicant must maintain a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA and a minimum of 24 credit hours is completed.

4. Applications and all pertinent information must be postmarked or received by May 15, 2025.  Any information received after that date will not be considered – No exceptions will be made.

5. Scholarships shall be payable to the student after receipt of official transcripts for the completed semester.

6. Acceptance to a post trade school, must be accompanied with acceptance letter.

7. Applications will include:

  • Most recent official transcript

  • Copy of educational/institution statement (fall enrollment)

  • Two (2) letters of recommendation

8. Candidates for the scholarship must be present for their interview at the Eastern Regional Classic.

9. Limit one scholarship per youth in the amount of $3,000.00.

ABOUT

Donations to the American Simmental-Simbrah Foundation support educational and charitable projects such as the American Junior Simmental Association Eastern Regional Classic and the Fred Swain Eastern Regional Scholarships. The AJSA is the only national breed association that requires young people to compete educational contests including public speaking, cattlemen’s quiz, genetic evaluation quiz, sales talk, and judging. Your donation will provide financial support for Eastern Regional Classics and scholarships for youth in the Eastern Region. The American Simmental-Simbrah Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501c(3) charitable organization.
